Shungite Golod Pyramid Jr – 72° Sacred Geometry Pyramid
The Shungite Golod Pyramid Jr (Hi-Pyramid Jr) is a hand-carved shungite pyramid crafted from authentic Karelian shungite. This distinctive 72° pyramid geometry, developed by Russian scientist Alexander Golod, follows proportions based on the Golden Ratio and differs from the 52° slope used in the Great Pyramids of Egypt.
Product Features
- Golod Pyramid Geometry – 72° slope based on the Golden Ratio, steeper than Egypt's Great Pyramids (52°)
- Hand-Carved from Single Stone – Carved from one piece of authentic Shungite, not assembled or cast from powder
- Authentic Type III Shungite – Sourced from Zazhoginsky Mine, Karelia, Russia
- Polished Finish – Beautiful display piece for home or office
- Durable Natural Stone – Long-lasting material that maintains its physical properties
- Distinctive Design – Unique pyramid shape with precise geometric proportions
About Golod Pyramid Geometry

One of the large experimental Golod pyramids constructed in Russia. Some structures reached approximately 44 meters (144 ft) in height and were built to study geometric pyramid forms at scale.
Golod pyramids were developed by Russian scientist Alexander Golod in the late 1980s. This distinctive pyramid design uses a 72° slope based on proportions related to the Golden Ratio, creating a steeper profile than the ~52° slope used in the Great Pyramid of Giza.
Golod constructed a series of large experimental pyramids in Russia to study how this geometry might interact with the surrounding environment. Reports from these experiments described observations involving plant growth, biological systems, and various physical materials placed within the pyramid structures.
About Shungite
Authentic Karelian shungite is a unique carbon-rich mineral formed in the Karelia region of Russia. It is known for containing naturally occurring fullerenes—hollow spherical carbon molecules—along with a high concentration of conductive carbon that gives the stone distinctive physical properties.
Because of this carbon structure, shungite has attracted scientific interest for the way carbon-based materials interact with electrical and electromagnetic energy. As a result, many people choose to place Shungite near everyday technology as part of a mindful approach to living in today’s device-filled environments.
Notable characteristics of shungite include:
- Electrical conductivity – The stone’s carbon structure allows it to conduct electrical energy
- Naturally occurring fullerenes – Rare spherical carbon molecules identified in shungite deposits
- Carbon-rich mineral composition – Formed in the Karelia region and studied for its unusual carbon structure
- Durable natural material – A stable stone that maintains its physical characteristics over time
Common Placement Ideas
Many people choose to place shungite pyramids in areas of the home or workspace where modern technology is commonly used, or where a distinctive natural stone display piece is desired.
Popular placement locations include:
- Living rooms and shared spaces – displayed on coffee tables, shelves, or media consoles
- Offices and workspaces – placed on desks or near computers and other electronic devices
- Wellness and meditation areas – incorporated into yoga rooms, studios, or relaxation spaces
- Decorative centerpieces – used as a natural stone focal point in modern interiors
Bedroom placement: many customers choose the more soothing and grounding forms of a shungite sphere or cube, such as our Sphere Harmonizer or Shungite Cubes, which offer alternative geometry while maintaining the same authentic Karelian shungite material.
Recommended Placement Area
Recommended placement area: Up to approx. 676 sq ft (about 26 ft across; general placement guidance)
The Hi-Pyramid Jr is one of the larger shungite pyramid forms and is often chosen for medium-to-larger spaces where a more substantial stone presence is desired.
Shungite’s carbon-rich composition and natural electrical conductivity have drawn scientific interest in how carbon materials interact with electromagnetic fields, which is one reason some individuals choose to keep Shungite pieces in technology-filled environments.
This guideline reflects typical decorative placement for larger Shungite pyramids.

Shungite & Scientific Research
Scientific studies have examined the properties of shungite and its interaction with electromagnetic radiation and carbon nanostructures. For example, a laboratory study investigating the shielding effect of mineral shungite during electromagnetic irradiation found that shungite shielding reduced biological damage caused by high-frequency radiation in experimental conditions.
Selected Research
• Shielding effect of mineral shungite during electromagnetic irradiation (PubMed)
• Fullerene structures in shungite carbon (Russian Academy studies)
• Electrochemical properties of natural shungite carbon
Natural veins of pyrite and quartz occur within shungite, creating subtle visual variations that highlight the individuality of each piece. These mineral inclusions may appear as fine lines within the stone and are a natural characteristic of authentic shungite rather than structural cracks.
